U.S. - Southeast Asia Aviation Cooperation Program Workshop Series

Planning for a Changing Industry Workshop

This USTDA-funded virtual workshop will bring together government officials and industry experts to discuss lessons air carriers and the air transportation industry have learned from experiences over the last few years.

Commercial air transportation has experienced disruptions in the past that have impacted passenger travel and industry financial health. The past two years have seen longer-lasting disruptions in the number of passengers flying and passengers' experience during travel. Air carriers and the air transportation industry have had to address the changes from an emergency management perspective as well as a long-term adjustment to practices, technologies, and policies.

Industry experts and practitioners will discuss best practices and lessons learned in planning for sudden passenger downturns and the introduction and potential arrival of technologies that may negatively impact the way business is done today. Workshop attendees will explore changes made to practices, technologies, and policies and how these changes will serve as a template for planning for and facing future challenges in the industry, such as unmanned aircraft systems, cyber security, and autonomous ground vehicles.

This will be the final of a six-workshop series designed to promote aviation cooperation between the public and private sectors in the U.S. and Southeast Asia
